A new Class 3 motel built alongside the existing Class 9b bowls club.

Our role is Construction Certificate, Principal Certifier and Occupation Certificate. The Construction Certificate has been issued and the Occupation Certificate will follow on completion.

Building a new motel hard against a club that stays open makes fire separation the governing question, and the existing main switchboard sat inside that problem. Fire safety performance solutions were prepared for both, and we reviewed and approved them as certifier, including managing the Fire and Rescue NSW referral.
The point of taking that route rather than the prescriptive one is that it gave the design room to move, and took cost out of the build, without reducing fire safety for either building or the people in them.
